These machines are suitable are especially suited for grinding face and/or steps on round workpieces and also more economical than conventional surface grinders when grinding mass production parts no matter what their shape is.
The reason for this is the fact that a continuous rotating movement allows for higher table speed and does not waste any time and energy for deceleration, reversal and acceleration as it is the case with longitudinal table machines.
